I want to play original DOS games stupidly fast, with sound from a real late-1990s sound card. This project is about finding the fastest PC that can still run a real 1990s sound card in native DOS, and getting the cards working in it with real hardware, not emulation.

| Goal | Find the fastest PC that can run a late-1990s PCI sound card in native DOS, and get DOS games playing through it in hardware, not emulation. |
The project so far, in order:
- I Love Software Rendering — why I want a fast PC running native DOS in the first place
- Why Don’t PCI Sound Cards Work on a Modern PC? — the problem, and the four things that have to work
More details:
- SBEMU — the emulation alternative
- SBEMU Just Killed Your DOS Gaming PC
- I made 3Dfx Voodoo2 work on a modern PC! — another PCI card on a modern board, through a PCIe-to-PCI adapter
The project continues!
