Tomb Raider is one of the DOS games with a genuine Glide patch, which makes it a proper native-DOS Voodoo test rather than something running through Windows 98. There are two patches — a statically-linked one that only works with Voodoo 1 cards, and a dynamically-linked one (sometimes called the Voodoo Rush patch) that works across the whole Voodoo range. The dynamic one defaults a little dark; gamma can be adjusted via environment variables, though that fix only reliably works on Voodoo 1/2, not Voodoo 3 and later.
Running it on real hardware is genuinely worth it: on a Voodoo 2, Tomb Raider’s underwater sections look noticeably better accelerated than on the PS1 or the DOS software renderer.
